Inkeri Rönnberg has been appointed as Quo Vadis’s new executive manager. She was recruited to strengthen the organization in response to the theatre’s expanded operations, growing staff, and the opening of its own performance space. Having previously worked as an executive director of Hangö Teaterträff and Theatre Universum, among others, Rönnberg not only has a thorough knowledge of Helsinki’s independent arts scene but also a solid background in DIY-culture and activism – she is one of the co-founders of the grassroots community space Lymy. In her new role, she is particularly inspired by the theater’s development work alongside the rest of the staff, and especially by the QV UG – Quo Vadis Underground -project, which will continue through the end of 2027.
“It is a joy and an honor to be selected as the executive manager of Quo Vadis! In Quo Vadis, internationality, artistic vision, and commitment to developing the independent theater scene and new audience engagement combines in an interesting way. It feels like the theater is on the cusp of something new and inspiring, and I’m eagerly looking forward to what we’ll create together in the theater space taking its shape in Hermanni. Stay tuned!” the new Executive Manager says happily.
The Executive Manager’s responsibilities include developing and planning the theater’s operations and finances, managing and coordinating the QV UG – Quo Vadis Underground project, overseeing human resources and financial administration, and working on strategy and grant applications in collaboration with the Artistic Director. The recruitment of a new Executive Manager stems from a structural reorganization at Quo Vadis, in which the theater transitioned from a single-director structure to a two-director model consisting of an Artistic Director and an Executive Manager. The goal of the change is to share responsibility for managing the theater’s expanded operations and to strengthen the artistic and operational foundations for Quo Vadis’s new endeavors.
“The new leadership model provides a solid foundation for the development of Quo Vadis’s expanded operations. Inkeri brings strong strategic expertise to the organization, as well as experience in the day-to-day operations of a theater, HR management, and project work. Her interest in diverse audiences and communities is an asset as we build a community around the new theater space,” says Hanna Nyman, the Chair of the Board.
“From the very start of our collaboration with Inkeri, it felt like we had a strong tailwind in our sails. Her wide-ranging professional expertise, skill in recognizing potential, and ability to combine practicality with strategy make for a truly impressive combination,” says Artistic Director Louna-Tuuli Luukka with delight.
We warmly welcome Inkeri to our team!
QV UG offers a cozy home for marginal art and subcultures
QV UG – Quo Vadis Underground is a new performance space concept in Hermanni, Helsinki, where Quo Vadis, previously a nomadic theatre, has been based since the summer of 2025. QV UG is a guest stage and multi-arts event space where Quo Vadis will begin to build a communal audience and collaborative culture that strives for radical hospitality. The project focuses on uncompromising artistic content and community activities, and aims to respond to the needs of Helsinki’s performing arts scene by providing affordable rehearsal and performance space, for example. The opening of the space to the public has been delayed and is now expected to take place in the fall of 2026. The project is funded by the Kone Foundation and the City of Helsinki.
