Come one, come all to investigate the changeable, contextual, unfixed nature of practice itself… To inquire on the individual within the community, and the community within the individual, and to speculate on what it means to produce a body of knowledge of creative practices together.

Performative Practice Jams is a sharing / learning format through which practices coexist, inform, and overlap. Artists from different disciplines create an emergent composition / dramaturgy, using their respective practices as material. Test your ideas and dreams!! Meet one another!! Engage through unexpected encounters!! The event is open to all creatives who want to share their experiences with others and learn from other creatives.

The event is an inclusive working session where artists and creatives from different fields share their working methods and experiment with them together. Instead of presenting finished works, the focus is on exploring, making and experimenting with ideas in the moment. The session offers an opportunity to meet other artists, learn from their processes and create new connections and forms of collaboration through creative work.

Bring comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, a notebook if you like to write things down, and an open mind and heart!

Performative practice jam is led by Kadence Neill from the Atten-dance working group.

Facilitator: Kadence Luella Neill is a dance artist currently based in Helsinki, whose work lies somewhere around the intersection of choreography, community exchange, and art theory. Her artistic practices often explore contradiction, ecstatic states of being, the concept of “the end”, and the body as a site of political and spiritual tension. Originally from New York City, Kadence is constantly cross-referencing different contexts, dance styles, disciplines, and realities.

The sessions are free of charge. Participation is limited to 15 people per session and we take people in the order they register. If you sign up but are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so that someone else on the waiting list can take your place.

We ask everyone to write a short motivation letter as part of the registration process. However, the motivation letter will not determine who is offered a place; places in the sessions will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessibility: Unfortunately, the space is not wheelchair accessible. There are two sets of stairs at the entrance, one of which is steep. The space has an accessible toilet.

Duration: 2 hours.

The sessions are open to anyone working in the performing arts. The sessions will be held in English.

WELCOME!

The Morning Sessions are part of Quo Vadis and the QV UG project’s initiative of Radical Hospitality,  and they are organised in collaboration with Kadence Neill and the Atten-dance working group. During the autumn 2026, we offer participants free, facilitated workshops and sessions that provide opportunities to come together, learn new things, share their own practices, and connect with new colleagues.

We practise hospitality by offering different ways to share and strengthen professional skills. In return, we hope participants will engage with the course programmes and contribute to a vibrant exchange of artistic learning. We wish to bring more variety to the everyday working lives of freelancers, while fostering reciprocity and creating spaces for multidirectional learning. The QV UG project is supported by Kone Foundation.
