In August, Kaisa Kukkonen joined Quo Vadis as Community Coordinator, filling in for Sanna Ritvanen. During the autumn and winter, Kaisa will bring her expertise to the QVUG project in workshop facilitation, audience engagement planning, communications, and community building.
Kukkonen is a dance artist, community-based cultural producer, and intimacy choreographer. She is particularly interested in how touch, attention, and encounter are choreographed. Her work includes creating performances, facilitating workshops, mentoring, writing in poetic and academic forms, and producing events. At the heart of all these practices are embodied knowledge and collaborative structures.
Kaisa has performed, taught, and produced events in Finland and internationally within the independent dance and performance field, focusing on contact improvisation, community and media art, and interdisciplinary improvisation. She is a founding member of Tanssilauantai Festival (Ilomantsi, 2009–2014) and Hetki Festival (Helsinki, since 2018), and co-produced Helsinki Meeting Point (2012–2015) with Giorgio Convertito. Since 2023, she has been part of Humina Space, a dance studio based in Pasila, Helsinki.
